The Next Web just reported that Facebook Lite is now available also for non US users. Facebook announced today that, after receiving loads of requests after yesterday’s US release, it rolled out all the new features to all English speaking Facebook users, fortunately I had mine set in English, and I must say I’m in love with it.
Check out if it works for you http://lite.facebook.com

Huddle launches app on Ning, tries to conquer the world.
In a few words: Huddle.net just added 33 million potential users.
Yesterday, Palo Alto based social networking platform Ning rolled out Ning Apps. Huddle didn’t let go of this opportunity and their app is live on the 1.5 million networks, being available to more than 33 million members.
With the Huddle Ning app, users can create intranets for their groups as well as allowing secure document sharing and team collaboration, getting 1GB of free storage space.
“The size and diversity of Ning Networks means that we can get Huddle in front of more users than ever before. From a development point of view, the flexible OpenSocial implementation on the Ning Platform has allowed us to completely customize the Huddle application to seamlessly match each network’s look and feel,” said Andy McLoughlin, co-founder and Strategy Director, Huddle.net. “Huddle is opening new collaboration opportunities for Ning Network Creators and their members. It will enable them to engage with their users more effectively and empower them to build stronger connections with more content-rich experience.
After the positive experience on the LinkedIn platform and after launching on XING in july, this sounds like a perfect move for the London-based startup.
Amongst the other Ning Apps that launched yesterday you’ll find some other great names such as Qik, Ustream.tv, PollDaddy, and WordPress.
Seedcamp finalists announced. Still major UK presence.
Seedcamp, the major european startup programme, has just announced its finalists. (Techcrunch Europe was the first to report it).
As you can see, the majority of the teams are based in London and other parts of the UK, that was pretty much predictable.
There are quite a few teams coming from eastern Europe and that’s very nice, unfortunately there are none from Italy, Spain, Greece, France and just one from Germany.
The teams who aren’t already in London, will move there for a 3 months period, where they will get mentoring, advice and funding.
Here are the 21 finalists:
- Advertag – London, UK
- Boxed Ice – Bromsgrove, UK
- Brainient – Bucharest, Romania
- Codility – Warsaw, Poland
