A pretty light take on the failing and almost scamming of the PGI conference. Read it on Startup Digest.

Hey, why did you simply deleted your previous post about this “conference”??? I think that’s really unprofessional! This is what you wrote about it:

An amazing tech and vc conference in Italy? It’s possible. Come to PGI (40% discount).

Next week Partners for Growth and Innovation (PGI) will kick off in the beautiful Versilia. It’s an unusually long and great conference for italian standards (maybe because it’s organized by a few american folks).

The conference will start on Sunday June 27th and rock on until Wednesday the 30th of June.

Partners for Growth & Innovation was started in 2010 by Tanya Noel, who has been serving hi-tech and non-profits of Silicon Valley for over 20 years. The goal of PGI, as found on their website, is to help you genuinely connect with real people in real life. So prepare yourself for an incredible week of entrepreneurship, technology, innovation, inspiration, but also culture, food, wine, and adventure, in magical environments: it is all about life!

The speaker list is impressive (mostly because I’ll be speaking there). Jokes aside, there’ll be speakers from Google, Digg, Techcrunch, The Next Web, Klout, PeopleBrowsr, Ventech, Startup Weekend and many more startups, venture capital funds and other entrepreneurial associations.

Many attendees will be flying over directly from the valley to enjoy the italian countryside and meet the most interesting italian startups.

Since you’re an avid theStartup.eu reader, I’m offering you a 40% discount code for the conference: “GEEKS”. You can insert it in the registration form. You can use it on the very special $399 price, but hurry up there are only 5 left at the moment.

You should visit their blog, read the speakers list and look at the amazing agenda.

Please connect the brain before writing a new post…
